Gymnogene Fly-Past (22 October 2007)
While we were watching crocodiles devour a buffalo carcass in the river just upstream from the house, this Gymnogene (also known as the African Harrier Hawk) flew overhead. I thought it looked rather splendid against the clear blue sky. -

Juvenile Wahlbergs Eagle (22 October 2007)
This young Wahlbergs Eagle flew overhead while we were watching a group of crocodiles devouring a buffalo carcass, just upstream from the house. Note the square tail, characteristic of the Wahlbergs. When it reaches adulthood, it will become brown all over. -
Juvenile Fish Eagle Washing in River (23 October 2007)
