LAY OF THE LAND: Seasonal Environmental Changes

Kulafumbi & Tsavo from the air (11)
All these photos were taken by Ian, from the vantage point in our friend Rob's microlight, as they went on an early morning flight on Christmas Day, 2007. You can clearly see how the Athi (aka Galana) River follows the base of the Yatta Plateau...and what a sense of space you get! Miles and miles of Tsavo bushland, stretching away to the horizon. -
Athi River Views - Upstream from our Balcony [2007] (35)
Looking upstream at the Athi River from our balcony - a different mood every day (nay, every hour...) -
Athi River Views - Downstream from our Balcony [2007] (24)
Corresponding downstream views of the river from our balcony. -
Miscellaneous Landscape / Lay of the Land Shots [2007] (25)
Odd shots from around the property, designed to show how the character of the bushland changes with the seasons. -
Mtito River Views [2007] (25)
The Mtito River is a small seasonal river running along one boundary of our property, and flowing (when it does) into the Athi River, just by the house. The Mtito only flows in the rainy season, and even then it is sporadic. Nonetheless, it is a river of exceptional beauty... -
The Sun, The Moon, and other Miscellaneous Natural Wonders [2007] (19)
A collection of shots taken simply because they are beautiful...while documenting the lay of the land, river & sky...
