WILDERNESS WEDDING: Ian & Tanya: Sept 22nd 2007
Ian and I got married on 22nd September 2007, on the balcony of the house at Kulafumbi... Organising a wedding in the middle of "the bush" proved quite a challenge, with 80 people sleeping under canvas, and guests coming in not just from other parts of Kenya and Tanzania (requiring a seven hour drive to reach the venue) but also from Canada, USA, UK, Denmark, and South Africa... What fun it was! We could not have wished for anything better...
Thanks to Nana and Lissa for all the photos.

The Morning Before... (17)
Everyone said this was the most relaxed wedding they'd ever been to. In the morning, everyone helped with the flowers and the lanterns and anything else which needed doing. As for Ian and I, we were completely relaxed, enjoying having all our friends around us (and marveling at how hard they all worked, without even being asked!!) -
The Ceremony (26)
We were married on the balcony, overlooking the Athi River, at 4pm on Saturday afternoon, just as the light started to turn golden... -
Unveiling the Dance Floor, Cutting the Cake, Speeches & Party (28)
After the ceremony and a few glasses of bubbly, everyone headed downstairs and outside for the party. This began with the unveiling of the dance floor, painted by my aunt Gaye with the words, "Dreams Come True", followed by speeches, dinner, cake and party, all out under the stars...
