19th October 2008 : Funny Old Stork

While I write my longer blog posts which will be coming your way very soon (yes, I know you've almost given up hope on me by now, but I AM in the process of writing some very long updates...and believe me, they're going to be long because I've got so much to tell you about...), I thought in the meantime I would post this series of photos featuring the eminently photogenic Yellow Billed Stork which often spends its days fishing below our house (so glorious with its bright yellow, red, black and white, and then with that surprising tinge of flamingo-pink across its wing feathers)...but as beautiful as the stork may be, I think it can be comical in equal measure...
Here's our stork, then, sunning himself, having a good scratch, followed by a quick preen and then - after all that exertion, a well-deserved snooze...
It's a tough life, isn't it?
